Rand-Air was an integral service provider of rental equipment in the building of the Berg River Dam project, this project was designed to ensure water security in the Western Cape. Rand-Air was a major contributor at the Braamhoek and Bedford Dam projects(Ingula Pumped Storage Scheme) The scheme construction encompasses two dams – the upper and lower reservoirs; a powerhouse, two tunnels that carry water from the reservoirs to the powerhouse, access roads, and transmission lines.

Rand-Air was an integral service provider of rental equipment in the building of the Deepwater Port of Ngqura. Providing diesel-driven air compressors and generators. This project also required portable lighting to ensure safety on site. Locally we transformed our 13kva range generators to include a light mast with halogen lights to ensure night-time work could be performed safely. When the new Kathrine Pedestrian Bridge was built in the heart of Sandton, a reliable power source was required, Rand-Air provided a QAS325 Generator. Our customer also required a reliable lighting source on-site to ensure safety during night shift construction, the QAX20 range with lighting tower masts to the rescue. Rand-Air not only offers compressor rental; but also generator, lighting towers, and water pump rentals to the construction industry.

Due to the very nature of a construction site, all of our diesel-driven air compressors and generators are trailer mounted, ensuring easy movement on a construction site. Rand-Air assisted in the construction of the Menlyn Main shopping center, and our smaller XA range was ideal as it was portable and could be moved to the next floor as construction progressed. Rand-Air’s portable range was even on top of the towering PWC building when our customer was providing fire protection installations. When a new pipeline was built from the Sasol plants from Sasolburg and Secunda to Johannesburg, Rand-Air provided portable compressors that could move along the pipeline. Once the pipeline was completed we provided a PTS916 and Dryer to ensure the pipeline was 100% dry for hand over. Our construction partnerships in the Western Cape have seen our compressors and generators used in the most scenic locations and in the building of many iconic landmarks in Cape Town, including Greenpoint Stadium.
